Authorities in Los Angeles have issued mandatory evacuation orders for residents living near the Palisades Fire burn scar as powerful storms are set to move into Southern California (SoCal) later today.
The Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management announced the evacuation order early Tuesday morning, warning that heavy rainfall could trigger mudslides, debris flows, and flash flooding in areas still recovering from the destructive Palisades Fire.
Officials are urging residents to leave immediately and move to designated evacuation centers before conditions worsen.
Emergency crews and the Los Angeles Fire Department are on standby, preparing for potential rescue and cleanup operations.
The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts severe storms with the potential for 2 to 3 inches of rain, strong winds, and possible thunderstorms through late Wednesday.
Residents are advised to stay tuned to local alerts, avoid flooded roads, and check in on neighbors who may need assistance during the evacuation.
⚠️ Authorities emphasize: “If you’re told to evacuate — do it now. Don’t wait.”
